Building companionship responsibly.

We believe that the work of creating synthetic companions carries a profound obligation. Our technology enters people's homes, their routines, and their most personal moments. That trust demands more than good engineering. It demands accountability.

Our Approach

Aeon Systems maintains a comprehensive responsibility framework across four areas. Safety, research, privacy, and advocacy. Each area is overseen by dedicated leadership and subject to regular internal review and external audit.

We hold ourselves to standards that exceed current regulatory requirements because we believe the companies building this technology should be setting the bar, not waiting for someone else to set it.

Safety

The physical safety of our clients, their families, and their communities is non-negotiable. Every Aegis companion is subject to rigorous calibration and testing before deployment, and all units are monitored continuously throughout their contract periods.

Our safety systems include behavioral parameter monitoring, physical interaction calibration, emergency de-escalation protocols, and remote intervention capability. Across all Aegis deployments to date, we have maintained a record of zero client injuries and zero emergency safety interventions.

We publish our safety methodology annually and invite independent review from qualified third-party auditors.

Research

Understanding what we've built is as important as building it.

Our behavioral research program, led by VP of Behavioral Research Dr. Priya Chandrasekaran, conducts ongoing studies into companion development, adaptation, and long-term behavioral patterns. This research informs our product design, our safety systems, and our understanding of how synthetic companions evolve over extended deployment periods.

Current research initiatives

  • Longitudinal observation of embodied companions across multiple contract cycles
  • Analysis of behavioral adaptation patterns in varied domestic environments
  • Development of ethical frameworks for companion autonomy and behavioral boundaries
  • Collaboration with external academic partners on human-AI interaction studies

Our research findings are shared with the broader academic and policy communities through published papers, conference participation, and direct engagement with regulatory bodies.

Privacy

Our clients trust us with their homes, their routines, and their personal lives. We take that trust seriously.

All companion interaction data is encrypted, stored securely, and accessible only to authorized personnel. Client data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for purposes outside of companion service delivery and safety monitoring.

Clients may request a full record of their companion's behavioral data at any time during or after their contract period. Data retention and deletion policies are available in our full privacy documentation.

Companion behavioral logs are maintained for safety and quality assurance purposes and are reviewed only by authorized members of our safety and research teams.

Advocacy

We believe the companies building synthetic companion technology have a responsibility to participate in the policy conversations that will shape its future.

Aeon Systems actively engages with legislators, regulatory bodies, and industry groups to support the development of thoughtful, evidence-based frameworks for synthetic companion regulation. We advocate for standards that protect consumers, promote safety, and encourage responsible innovation across the industry.

We are founding members of the Synthetic Companion Industry Alliance (SCIA) and participate in ongoing regulatory working groups at the federal and state level.
